Hello and thank you for visiting Lifestyle in Spain.
We have been living here for 14 years and our passion for the province of Granada in Southern Spain inspired us to develop this website.
We began our journey through this wonderful country in 2002 in the Region of Valencia, living initially in a fantastic refurbished apartment in the gypsy quarter. Next a large townhouse on the orange blossom coast that we converted into a successful small boutique hotel. A move inland and full restoration of a cave house in a tranquil medieval village. Then north to Galicia buying a traditional Spanish farm house complete with land, chestnut trees and roaring open fires.
In 2010 we returned South to the province of Granada in Andalusia. The city of Granada itself with the Alhambra Palace, the medieval quarter, the tapas bars, authentic flamenco and the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains is a melting pot of culture and style. We however were drawn to the East of the city to the area famous for its cave houses a labyrinth of homes built into the rock with the pepper-pot chimneys poking out of the mountains.
We are passionate about “real Spain” a world away from the busy coastal resorts. We have discovered traditional Spanish life and would like to share some of our experiences with you. The food, the Andalusian people, dramatic landscapes, incredible architecture and the vibrant history of this fabulous province await you. The quirky caves are a must see, choose from one of our day tours or the ultimate cave experience that includes sleeping in your own cave. Visit artisan workshops and museums, colourful ceramics, wicker baskets hand woven blankets and rugs.
Take a tour and discover the history of Andalusian olive oil, experience traditional tapas on one of our tapas tours. See how the local wine is produced on the bodega tour and savour the flavours of our gastronomy, typical recipes using fresh local seasonal ingredients. Please see the tours and experiences pages for more information.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
